What are Nintendo Sigpatches? ›

Sigpatches are a series of patches loaded on a hacked Nintendo Switch, typically on Atmosphère, in order to run pirated games.

Click the orange shopping bag at the bottom of your console to open the Nintendo eShop. If you can access the eShop, your account hasn't been banned. If Nintendo has suspended your account, you'll see the message: "This account has been suspended due to a violation of the Nintendo Account User Agreement."

Hacking your Nintendo Switch is the process of using an exploit to install custom firmware on your Switch. This allows you to install unofficial apps and games, use ROM hacks, backup, edit, and restore saves for different games, and play older games from other consoles using emulators, and more.

By jailbreaking, users gain the ability to run homebrew applications, access emulators, and customize their gaming experience beyond the standard limitations. However, jailbreaking a Nintendo Switch is not without its risks.

Regarding Playing Age-Appropriate Content

Nintendo Switch offers a variety of games for everyone of all ages to enjoy. Some of these games depict violence or criminal activity and are not suitable for children. We recommend that you make sure a game is appropriate for your child prior to playing.

Using the device's serial number

Although the Nintendo Switch lacks GPS tracking built-in, knowing how to use its serial number will help law enforcement in their attempts to retrieve your system. Report the theft to local law enforcement immediately.

This is a module meant to be executed via the EnvironmentLoader, for example, using the Tiramisu Environment, on the Wii U. This module implements signature check patches originally found in the Mocha CFW.

Patched means the switch is 100% unhackable via rcm. Potentially patched means the switch might be able to be hacked via rcm, but likely not.

If the box is green, it means your Switch doesn't have the patch and is moddable. A red box means you have a patched Switch and won't be able to mod it. If you see a yellow box, your Switch might have the patch but might not.

Does tinfoil need sigpatches? ›

If you install it and Tinfoil will not launch, then you are missing the correct signature patches required to run homebrew titles. If you are unable to obtain the correct homebrew patches, then download the Applet version of Tinfoil.
